Water Power Lofts transformed a vacant industrial building into vibrant residential community featuring 64 studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments.
Balestrieri’s critical role entailed a preliminary environmental inspection, Phase I site assessment, asbestos abatement, selective interior demolition, universal hazardous waste removal, and the removal of industrial coatings impacted with lead. The project’s objective was to provide Urban Equity Properties with a clean building shell, free of environmental hazards, ready for renovation.
Because virtually all interior surfaces were impacted with both lead and asbestos-containing materials, the work required careful planning and precise execution. Our crew leveraged their knowledge of hazardous materials to implement a sequence of work events to systematically complete all the work within budget and on schedule, providing the owner with confidence as they moved forward with the next phase of their redevelopment project.
