The Marcus Performing Arts Center is one of Milwaukee’s premier destinations, bringing world-class theater, music, and entertainment to the heart of downtown. Beyond the stage, the Fitch Memorial Garden serves as a outdoor setting for weddings and special occasions.

The theater partnered with Balestrieri to assist in the renovation project to update and bring new life to the Fitch Memorial Garden. Our crew came in to protect the surrounding features before performing the selective demolition work of existing concrete, granite pavers, and mortar throughout the garden. The result of our work is a renewed foundation for an already iconic venue.

The primary challenge of this project was working within the confined area of the Fitch Memorial Garden. To combat this challenge safely and efficiently, Balestrieri utilized a crane to lower equipment into the workspace and remove the demolished concrete, granite pavers, and mortar from the site.

In addition to the special challenges, the project took place during the peak of Milwaukee’s busy summer event season. To execute efficiency and minimal disruption to continued events, strong communication between all teams on site was essential.

We are excited to be a part of the Marcus Performing Arts Center’s new chapter and cannot wait to see how they transform the space for our community to enjoy!
