Eau Claire Federal Courthouse

The Eau Claire Federal Building and US Courthouse first floor office space is being completely renovated. However, several crucial steps need to take place before they start the renovation process.
Since the building was built in 1909, it contained lead-based walls, ceilings, and industrial coatings, as well as asbestos pipe insulation. On top of that, the Federal Building and US Courthouse needed Selective Interior Demolition performed throughout the entire first floor. The space also contained a large vault made of thick walls that needed removal. Working in a federal building causes unique factors to arise. There were high amounts of security throughout the building while the crew was working. This meant that there were detailed procedures to get in and out of the building. Along with that, Balestrieri had to follow intense federal guidelines regarding the work performed meaning our work was highly monitored. Mastering efficiency and organization in a secure environment was an essential factor in completing the project in a professional and timely manner.
Balestrieri Environmental & Development offers all of the necessary services to complete this project throughout, which is why the out-of-state contractor entrusted us to work alongside them. Balestrieri has over 30 years of experience in performing multiple services for a single project, so efficiency and order is a strong suite. The crew had to remove the asbestos pipe insulation and perform the interior demolition of the lead-based walls, ceilings, and vault under full containment.
