Balestrieri Project Managers Learn from Construction Legends
Balestrieri project managers Alex Balestrieri, Richard Heyer, and Nathan Kawlewski attended AGC of Greater Milwaukee’s Learn from the Legends Luncheon Tuesday, May 25th. This four-person panel was moderated by AGC of Greater Milwaukee’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Kessenich, with a panel consisting of Berghammer Construction Corp.’s President & Principal, Jim Parks, J.P. Cullen & Sons, Inc. Former Vice President (Retired) Larry Rocole, Jens Construction Corp.’s CEO & Project Manager Dave Jones, and CG Schimdt, Inc.’s Executive Vice President & COO Mike Abuls.
The four construction legends shared their wisdom and career lessons they learned over the years.
Key takeaways for Alex Balestrieri were that it takes more than financial decisions to run a successful company. It takes a group of like-minded people with a shared goal. Additionally, it’s not what you say, but how you say it. Other takeaways included the importance of strong communication, striking a
work/life balance, and welcoming curious and creative thoughts.

“I enjoy hearing stories of how successful individuals got to where they are. These four shared their journey from their twenties to their current positions. It’s never as easy as, ‘I went to college, got a job, and here I am.’ There’s curveballs and challenges along the way. It’s not always an easy story. Each person has a different approach to their success and how they get to where they are in life.”
