It was another great year for several Balestrieri employees and their families who participated in the 5th Annual Cancer Assault Challenge held on May 17th at Lutherdale Bible Camp north of Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
To kick start the event and prepare to run in the mud, Balestrieri’s team members held a dedicated spirit week. Each day represented a unique theme:
- Monday – Sports Day: Dress in your favorite sports team’s apparel
- Tuesday – Superhero Day: Dress as your favorite Superhero
- Wednesday – ‘80s Day: Wear ‘80s workout attire
- Thursday – Pink Day: Wear pink to work
- Friday – Pajama Day: Dress in your PJ’s of choice
All employees were encouraged to dress up - even if they were unable to attend the charitable race event. Our team had a blast participating in spirit week, but the Cancer Assault Challenge was even better!
“We all had a great time, and we’re already looking forward to it next year,” said the Villegas Family. “Everyone should play in the dirt because life is too short to have clean fingernails.”
The general consensus from all our participating team members is best reflected in the words of Desi Valadez, wife of Balestrieri employee, Gerardo Valadez.
“Hands down, the best part was the last obstacle with all the mud and, of course, the water slide,” Desi commented. “I am so glad to have completed the extreme challenge.”
Balestrieri is honored to have been a part of Cancer Assault Challenge, since the first event was held five years ago. As a proud sponsor each year, our team is always thrilled to participate in support of such a worthy cause.
