At Balestrieri, protection of human health and the environment is our number one priority. We are committed to the safety of our employees, the employees of others on the job site, and the general public.
Balestrieri's dedication to safety cannot be matched. We are consistently seeking out new opportunities to learn and grow together as a team. - Vice President Cindy Balestrieri
Risk Management Team
Balestrieri has created a committee that meets monthly to discuss relevant topics concerning various aspects of our industry and to formulate the most effective safety practices and procedures. The topics of discussion are determined at an annual meeting with our Risk Control Professional to review the most relevant aspects of industry trends, company performance, and insurance requirements. The committee, consisting of cross sections from Balestrieri Executive Management, Safety, Human Resources, Accounting, and Project Coordination, has proven a valuable addition to our continually growing safety program.
Since the formation of the Risk Management Team, our low MOD rates have continued and our safety culture has grown to encompass all employees. We have increased our internal safety audits which not only measure a field manager’s jobsite, but also further our field employees’ safety focus. - Safety Manager Steve Jandrowski
Field Safety Manager Steve Jandrowski
Our safety program is overseen by Field Safety Manager Steve Jandrowski. Mr. Jandrowski is responsible for on-site project safety audits and employee in-house training. He is also OSHA certified in the OSHA 500 60-Hour Trainer Course for Construction. Mr. Jandrowski was invited to join the Milwaukee Construction Industry Safety Council’s (MCISC) Construction Safety Leadership Forum, sponsored in part by the AGC of Greater Milwaukee. This group, which meets eight times per year, is made up of lead individuals responsible for their companies’ construction safety programs. The purpose of the group is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and to provide education and materials for those responsible for developing and administering safety programs in construction.
Project Manager Michael Ruenz
Balestrieri expands on our continuing safety culture by adding Project Manager Michael Ruenz to our safety team. Mr. Ruenz has recently gained his National Safety Council Training credentials for First Aid, CPR, and AED Trainer. He has completed his annual field safety training for all of our field and management staff throughout the year during our monthly field safety training meetings. Michael has also been accredited with OSHA’s 510 Safety in Construction and 500 course earning training certificates as an OSHA Train the Trainer program qualification. He has been trained in the OSHA 10-Hour classes in the general construction industry.
Project and Safety Coordinator Breanna Brunner
Breanna’s role at Balestrieri incorporates several aspects of the industry. She works directly with the project and safety teams coordinating safety trainings for all employees and processing internal safety audits and other safety paperwork. She oversees the online contractor management sites that provide vital company health and safety statistics to clients. She also promotes the 2-hour and 16-hour awareness trainings provided by our Safety Manager. This training allows clients to better recognize the necessary measures needed to be taken when coming in contact with hazardous materials at their facilities. Breanna additionally keeps all employees up-to-date on company and federal policies and procedures by routing vital safety information to all.
Safety Program and Training

- Heavy metals and hazardous materials safe handling review
- Defensive driving skills refresher course
- Fleet Safety Manual review
