Mr. Ruenz has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry and has recently been promoted to Project Manager here at Balestrieri. Previously serving as a Field Manager, Mike is licensed as an Asbestos Supervisor and Inspector in Wisconsin, an Asbestos Professional in Illinois, and an Asbestos Supervisor in Michigan.
In addition to his extensive training portfolio, Mike is an FAA certified remote pilot for Commercial sUAV (small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and Airman. Adding to his list of training qualifications, he now carries training credentials for the OSHA 510/500 Construction and General Industry Trainer certificates and is also a competent trainer for National Safety Council First Aid, CPR and AED Instructor.
You will also see Mike at many of our annual trade shows that we participate in every year. In addition to manning the marketing booth space, Mike will be participating in seminars, and conducting events specializing in Adaptive Reuse and Historic Preservation. Mike states “the reindustrialization of the Milwaukee and the new market interests throughout the I-94 corridor has opened the market for re-development throughout Kenosha and Racine and this will carry over into Milwaukee. This is where a great share of re-purposing of properties has been seen. As specialist in this craft, Balestrieri continues its excellence working with developers and property owners to Re-Create these building Gems”.
Mike has continuing education goals set for this year which focus on computer proficiency and skills setting. When away from work, Mike continues to serve in worship ministries with his church and is currently learning to play bass guitar. Finally, with all of that to accomplish, Mike continues to cultivate an heirloom garden and manage a small hobby farm. As one final accomplishment, Mike would like to share the accreditation received by Lilly, Mike’s 6-year-old deaf Pit Bull in being certified by the Americans with Disabilities Act as an accredited service animal. “Lilly is such a goof ball” Mike says, “seeing her react with disabled individuals is so rewarding for her clients and myself. A friend just remarked that EVERY dog has a purpose, and every dog deserves a chance. I believe I was Lilly’s chance to serve through me.”
